Avon Lake wins the SWC, stays undefeated

The unpredictable yet spectacular run for the Avon Lake Shoregals continues, as they are now 17-0 after defeating Olmsted Falls 3-0.

The win clinched their first Southwestern Conference title in over a decade and despite only winning the first game 25-23, the Shoregals cruised to the title winning the final two games giving up just a combined 22 points.

Whitney Craigo had 22 assists and Katie Mihalik had 14 service points for Avon Lake as Dan Berkheimer's team has made quite a run this season.


Other results:
Bay 3, North Ridgeville 0: The Rockets continue to stay atop the West Shore Conference as they defeated the Rangers to improve to 9-1 in the conference.
Rachel Vick had 16 kills and Bridget Durham had 4 solo blocks for Bay in the win.

Elyria Catholic 3, Rocky River 0: The Panthers are still alive in the race for the WSC title in their first year in the conference as they swept the Pirates in Rocky River.
Led by Riley St. Marie's 19 digs, EC, now 8-3 in the WSC, can keep their hopes for a title alive Tuesday against Bay. A win for Bay would clinch their third straight conference championship.

Edison 3, St. Mary 0: The Chargers, like Bay, are in the driver's seat to win their conference, the SBC, after blowing by St. Mary, allowing just 33 points in the 3 game win.
Abbey Cox's 17 kills and 5 aces powered the Chargers to a 12-0 conference record after their win over the Panthers.

Brookside 3, Keystone 0: The Brookside Cardinals are still undefeated in PAC play as they dominated a Keystone team that had previously lost only once in conference play all season.
Kady Whitsel had 21 digs and Shelby Kerstetter added 4 blocks as the Cardinals are closing in on their first ever PAC title.

Lorain 3, Warren Harding 0: A 3-0 win over Warren Harding helped the Lady Titans improve to 14-5 on the season, with a 9-1 record in the Lake Erie League.
After just winning a tight first game 25-23, Lorain won each of the last two by a dominating 25-9 tally.
